Microsoft MapPoint 2009 North American is now available. The image above show MapPoint 2009 teamed with MapApps LegislativeMaps application to provide Congressional Districts for the State of Ohio. The new MapPoint application has a smooth Black background and an icon toolbar which can alternate between small or large icons.

New for MapPoint 2009:

• Refreshed data - Use updated geographic and demographic data sets in MapPoint to display trends and illustrate key points on maps.
• Send to mobile - Send point-of-interest and “business card” details such as addresses and phone numbers to your mobile device.*
• Updated user interface & improved usability - Streamlined redesign simplifies tasks and improves usability while driving. With the new integrated pan/select cursor feature, you can simply left-drag to pan and right-drag to select, which saves a huge amount of clicks and mouse travel in normal usage.
• Enhanced Live Search - Quickly find listings when online and add them to a route. Use descriptive words such as “coffee” and “restaurant” to find points near your location.

Now a New MapPoint 2009 with GPS**:

• Advanced GPS features - New full-screen navigation mode with driving guidance tracks your location, automatically reroutes your trip as needed and provides turn-by-turn directions—including spoken street names. Estimated drive times keep you on schedule while quick and easy reverse route options allow you to adjust your route with a simple click of a button.
• Zoom with a view - Use the new Navigation view option to see a 3D perspective map road view of your route.
